Charlene of Monaco picks gorgeous maxi dress for Grand Prix outing

The princess wowed with her chic style once again

With its stunning location, beautiful attendees and lashings of champagne (usually being sprayed), the Monaco Grand Prix is one of the most glamorous events of the year. And Princess Charlene, who is married to Albert Crown Prince of Monaco, was dressed suitably chic for the event on Sunday. The 40-year-old looked sensational in a floor length crepe silk dress by Swiss fashion house Akris, which featured an eye-catching multi-coloured graphic print and daring thigh high split. The former Olympic swimmer teamed it with a pair of blue high heeled court shoes and simple diamond stud earrings.

The fun-loving princess showed off her playful side by guzzling straight from the bottle of a champagne magnum, while her husband and race winner Daniel Ricciardo looked on laughing. Other glamorous attendees included supermodel Bella Hadid, who dressed casually in jeans and a red vest top, and TOWIE star Chloe Lewis, who looked sensational in an all-red maxi dress.

Charlene has developed a reputation for chic, understated style since becoming a member of the Monaco royal family after marrying Prince Albert in 2011. Earlier this year in March she put on a stylish display at the region's Tournoi Sainte Devote rugby tournament, stepping out in a smart dark grey outfit consisting of a well-tailored utility jacket worn over over a black turtleneck sweater. She teamed the with tight-fitting black trousers, heeled ankle boots and a playful pair of cat-eye shades.

Charlene met her husband during a swimming event in Monaco, and the pair wed in a spectacular three-day ceremony in 2011 at the Prince's Palace of Monaco. It began with a concert by rock band The Eagles and featured a civil ceremony followed by a lavish Roman Catholic ceremony attended by celebrities and global heads of state. The couple have two children together, three-year-old twins Jacques and Gabriella, who regularly warm the hearts of onlookers by hugging and holding hands in public.
