There's a decadent trend that the Hollywood A-list are currently coveting and it may come as a shock – bedazzled socks. Not just any old socks either - crystal embellished Gucci socks, which retail at a whopping £885! The striking acessories have been donned by a whole host of celebrities, including 49-year-old Jennifer Lopez.

Jennifer Lopez donned the Gucci socks with high heels

The mother-of-two posted a stylish picture on her Instagram account on Tuesday evening – and the Maid in Manhattan actress looked typically stunning in a cosy white turtleneck jumper and voluminous tulle tutu skirt. However fans went wild for her unusual footwear choice - a pair of strappy sandals, over the top of Gucci's sequined socks! All the attention was on the Jenny From The Block singer's feet; even Jennifer herself recognised this, and captioned the shot:

"I got a new pair of socks today.. #guccigang"

The dazzling socks are £885

The knitted socks are made in a neutral cream shade and feature a crystal interlocking 'GG' pattern that the designer brand is known for. Almost too good to keep under wraps, the sparkly socks work well on show – and indeed work the best paired with your favourite pair of heels.

Rihanna teamed her socks with white stiletto shoes

Jennifer, mother to twins Max and Emme, both 9, isn't the only high-profile celebrity to sport the socks. Rihanna paired her white high-heel stiletto shoes with the statement hosiery and updated her Instagram account with a close-up of the combo, as well as a full 'outfit of the day shot' - pairing her sparkly footwear with a black slip dress and a cosy, oversize puffa jacket.

The shimmery socks are indeed a collector's piece due to the ivory hued detail and iridescent sequin embellishments. Designed to be worn as outwear they are far too special to keep hidden away! Made in Italy in a super soft material, they may just be the most expensive socks of all time – so definitely shouldn't be tossed to the back of your sock drawer!
