Hilary Duff is rarely spotted flashing flesh, but the 27-year-old has made an exception to encourage mothers around the world to embrace their bodies. The mother-of-one shared a bikini selfie on Sunday posing in a black strapless two-piece with scalloped edges from swimwear brand Marysia Swim during a holiday with her friends.

"Hey #moms #westillgotit #loveyourbod," she captioned the candid snap. Fans were quick to begin commenting on the photo, praising Hilary for promoting positive body image as she showcased her toned figure. The American beauty rocked wet wavy hair for the photo and minimal make-up, no doubt having just enjoyed a dip in the pool before taking the image.

The former Lizzie McGuire star has been enjoying a sunny getaway with a few of her close friends, a few weeks after reportedly filing for divorce from husband Mike Comrie. The couple announced their initial separation in January this year, nearly two years after they welcomed baby Luca on 20 March 2012.

A spokesperson for Hilary confirmed that they had "mutually decided [upon] an amicable separation.

"They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives," her publicist told People magazine. "They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son."

Hilary has also been enjoying some quality time with her older sister Haylie Duff, who is due to give birth to her first child, a baby girl, in a few weeks. Hilary and mother Susan hosted an outdoor baby shower for Haylie at the start of March, joined by friends and family including Lauren Conrad, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Jenna Dewan-Tatum.

Guests spent the afternoon posing for playful pictures and getting creative assembling bouquets of fresh flowers and floral crowns for their hair. The ladies also enjoyed sweet treats, including little cupcakes, cake pops, macaroons and ice cream.
