Vivienne Westwood's bold designs pack a punch during knockout Japan show

Proving she's a major contender in the international fashion ring Vivienne Westwood put on a spectacular show in Japan this week.

The grande dame of British fashion and her husband Andreas Kronthaler presented a specially designed collection in front of a crowd of 1,200 at Tokyo's famous wrestling and boxing venue, Korakuen Hall. And fittingly, the boxing theme reigned supreme during the presentation, with models strutting around the ring rather than the catwalk. Even voluminous ballgowns were accessorised with enormous red gloves.

It was back at Milan Fashion Week in September Vivienne announced she was making a range to be exclusively sold in Japan, where her bold designs are extremely popular. This week the fashion pack was knocked out by the designs, which included tops in her signature tartan, beautifully tailored jackets and slinky dresses in eye-catching fuchsia and standout gowns with huge puffball shoulders.
