Reese Witherspoon and her 17-year-old daughter Ava Phillippe stole the show on Tuesday night as they graced the red carpet at the LA premiere of Home Again. The mother-daughter duo looked more like twins as they enjoyed an evening out together, and both looked fabulous in statement dresses. Reese, 41, looked age-defying in a form-fitting red midi-dress by Roland Mouret, which featured contrasting black lace straps. The talented actress, who stars as single mum Alice Kinney in the new comedy-drama film, teamed the design with a pair of leg-lengthening strappy black heels, and accessorised with an assortment of rings and bangles.

Ava, Reese's only daughter with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, opted for a black and silver metallic design. Her midi-dress featured long, semi-sheer sleeves and a lace hem, and just like her mum, she teamed it with a pair of black heels.

Both Reese and Ava wore their long, blonde hair down in loose waves. Make-up wise, Reese worked a bold red lip to complement her dress, a glowy base to enhance her complexion and a sweep of bronzer across the apples of her cheeks. A bold outline of black liner completed her look. Ava meanwhile, highlighted her natural beauty with almost identical make-up, but when it came to lips, she chose an ultra-feminine, pale pink shade.

Reese and her Home Again co-stars

Earlier in the week, the Legally Blonde star opened up about her close bond with her only daughter, telling Entertainment Tonight that she wasn't looking forward to her leaving to go to University next year. She said: "She's my best friend and we do everything together, it's going to be hard for her to leave! But I have another year.''

She also spoke about just how proud she was of Ava, adding: ''I alternate between crying and feeling really proud of the woman she's become. It's so weird. I can't believe she's [going to be] 18. She's great, and we did it together. I feel like we grew up together, it's great.''
