It's the most glamorous event in the British showbiz calendar, and the stars of the silver screen made sure to pull out all the stops for the BAFTAs 2017. The leading ladies stepped out onto the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall wearing stunning designer dresses and equally glam accessories.

Emily Blunt was a vision in Alexander McQueen, while Naomi Harris had a Cinderella moment in Gucci. The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, showed she's not afraid to take a fashion risk, rocking a dramatic gypsy-tiered Alexander McQueen dress, and Nocturnal Animals star Amy Adams was as chic as ever in an emerald green Tom Ford column dress.

Heloise Letissiers aka French singer Christine and The Queens

Masculine chic! "Wearing a louche pinstripe suit, Heloise's off-beat masculine style is a breath of fresh air amongst the standard red carpet frocks," says Jill.

Hannah Bagshawe

Hannah wowed on the red carpet alongside her handsome husband Eddie Redmayne, star of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. While she was supporting her husband, her amazing fashion choices meant it was Hannah herself who caught everyone's eye.

"An elegant embroidered fitted gown, dressed down with a dishevelled fishtail plait. Hannah's husband may be the star attraction tonight but she plays best supporting role," says Jill.

Emma Stone

We expected something a bit different from the quirky La La Land and this look definitely gets our seal of approval!

"Layering her Chanel Couture heavily beaded dress over matching trousers gives Emma the edge," says Jill. "Her metallic heels and pearl ankle bracelet show her quirky personality extends off the screen."

baftas best dressed 13a

The Duchess of Cambridge

It was all eyes on Kate as she arrived at the awards ceremony - and for good reason: "Kate trusts in McQueen, yet again, to deliver an occasion dress of dreams," says Jill. "The daring cold shoulder and gypsy tiers show that Kate is not afraid to take some fashion risks. This will go down as one of her finest."

baftas best dressed 1a

Anya Taylor-Joy

Nominated for the 2017 BAFTA Rising Star Award, actress Anya is also making waves in the fashion world.

"This showstopping sky-blue Gucci chiffon tiered dress with an embellished snarling tigers head sets Anya out as one to watch - more please!" says Jill

baftas best dressed 2a

Emily Blunt

She never puts a foot wrong on the red carpet and Emily's BAFTAs appearance was no difference.

"Embroidered with botanicals and birds, Emily’s fitted bodice shows off her fantastic toned figure," says Jill. "Spilling into dramatic floor length ruffles, it could only be Alexander McQueen."

baftas best dressed 3a

Naomie Harris

Princess-perfect! "This is Naomie's Cinderella moment in Gucci knife-pleated tulle with 3D floral waist detail," says Jill. "Pretty, romantic and feminine - just like the actress herself."

Sophie Turner

Games of Thrones star Sophie Turner is carving out a name for herself as one to watch in the fashion world. "Another cleavage-defying plunge neckline, which looks striking against Sophie’s alabaster skin," says Jill. "The two-tone sequin Louis Vuitton number also reveals a staggering amount of leg, but weirdly we approve."

baftas best dressed 4a

Nicole Kidman

"This deep V-neck Armani Prive, jewel-encrusted halter bodice with an midnight velvet column skirt and train spells confident elegance," says Jill. We couldn't agree more - Nicole looks super chic.

baftas best dressed 5a

Amy Adams

Nocturnal Animals star Amy was bound to wear a dress from the film's director Tom Ford's line. But it was her hair that tipped the outfit into best-dressed territory for Jill. "Flame red hair and emerald satin, the combo is magical," she says. "Amy looks perfectly poised in her Tom Ford strapless sheath with quirky velvet bow back detail."

baftas best dressed 6a

Isabelle Huppert

"Everything about this bespoke Chloe gown is spot on - the balloon sleeves, the button cuffs, the high and tie neckline, it’s a lesson in Gallic sophistication," says Jill of the 63-year-old actress.

baftas best dressed 8a

Daisy Ridley

Daisy has had a meteoric rise to fame since starring in the Star Wars film in 2016. And her fashion sense has had no trouble keeping up!

"Her rose-embroidered graphic dress with matching bomber jacket is young, fun and fiercely on-trend - Daisy plays to the crowd and wins," says Jill.

baftas best dressed 9a

Julia Stiles

The plunging neckline was definitely the trend of the night!

"Another one that got the deep v-neck memo, Julia’s applique floor-skimmer is just the right side of romantic without being sickly sweet. Bravo!" says Jill.

holliday

Holliday Grainger

The British actress offset her dramatic strapless gown with a deep red lip and her fiery locks in loose waves. We're big fans of this quirky look.
