A teaser image for the campaign was first revealed in May, with the British beauties smouldering for the cameras, as they were announced as the new faces of the high street giant.

This marks the second campaign that Kate and Cara have done together – their first being for Burberry fragrance My Burberry – and it was clear that the pair were excited to be reunited.

"Inez & Vinoodh have captured the energy of the shoot perfectly," said Kate. "Cara and I always have fun together and you can really see that in this campaign."

"This is the first time I have worked with Mango and having Kate as my partner in crime is ideal!" Cara added. "We are a lethal combination. I admire her personally and professionally, she represents a true fashion icon. It is a privilege to learn and to share this experience with her. The shoot has been epic, it's always fun when Miss Moss is around."

While there were rumours of a rift between the two, Cara was quick to put speculation to rest on her Instagram account, which counts over 17.7 million followers. She paid a tribute to Kate sharing a black-and-white photo featuring half of her face merged with half of Kate's.

"Here's the lovely Kate and I showing we’ve got #somethingincommon," she captioned the striking image. "Use the new #somethingincommon app by @mango to celebrate what links you to your friends, pets, me? or whatever you want. Just like us, share your love!!!"

The Mango campaign could be one of Cara's last modelling jobs, following the news that the 23-year-old is leaving the world of fashion o pursue an acting career.

"I am not doing fashion work anymore," she explained in a candid new interview with The Times. "Modelling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while. It didn't make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was… I felt so old."
