Greta Bellamacina has been successful at many things. As a model she has appeared in campaigns for Stella McCartney, Burberry, Shrimps and is now the face of eyewear brand Garrett Leight; and her acting debut was aged 13 when she played a Slytherin schoolgirl in Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire.

She is also on a mission to rebrand poetry by bringing it to a wider audience through the publishing company New River Press, which she set up with her husband, artist and poet Robert Montgomery.

“I met Rob because I was editing a book of love poetry. I mean it sounds like a film in itself,” she laughs. “I had to research a long list of contemporary poets – but contemporary in the traditional poetry world means around 100 years old, so most of them had been dead around 50 years. Rob was one of the poets and he emailed me asking if I wanted to meet him so we could discuss the book. I had no idea [he was so good looking]…we instantly clicked.”

She is also – of course – a poet in her own right: she published her first book aged 21 and was shortlisted for the Young Poet Laureate of London award in 2014.

Her newest project is a semi-autobiographical feature-length film Hurt By Paradise that she co-wrote with Sadie Brown and they both star in, which is currently in preproduction.

“The story is about two London women that strike up an unlikely friendship: Celeste is in her 20s and a struggling poet that desperately wants her book published, but nobody wants to take it or understands what she’s about. The other is a woman is Marianne and she’s in her 40s, a struggling actress and a bit of a fantasist who spends her life making videos of herself in her bedsit,” she tells us about the London-based film she assures us isn’t a polished American view of the capital.
