Here's how ASOS's new website feature makes shopping a whole lot more inclusive

We all know how frustrating it is to buy something lovely online, only to find that, in reality, your next-day-delivered picks look nothing like the ones worn by the fashion brand's (usually tall and slim) choice of models. Self-esteem bashed, and a trip to the post office to make a return? Not fun. So we welcome ASOS's new initiative, which will see a variety of different shapes, sizes and skin tones modelling each of their garments - allowing all women to feel represented, and to help shoppers make better choices for their own, beautiful, body types. Yay!

The new system is being rolled out across selected garments at first, and will eventually be included on the fashion brand's app, too. In a statement, the store said: “We’re always testing new technology that can make our customers’ experience even better. In this case, we’re experimenting with AR to show products on different size models, so customers can get a better sense of how something might fit their body shape."

Sounds good to us! ASOS's loyal shoppers are thrilled at the news too, taking to Twitter to praise the retailer. "OMG I love @asos even more!" said one. "Finally showing the same item on girls with different body types." Another wrote: "This helps massively, as I often wonder how clothes would look on me, when I’m clearly five sizes bigger than the model. Great move forward.”

This is the second time ASOS have found themselves in our good books this week, since the brand gave the best social media response to a packaging blunder they made on 17,000 of their plastic bags. The brand’s social media editor tweeted a photo of the packaging (featuring a spelling mistake) and captioned it: “Ok, so we *may* have printed 17,000 bags with a typo. We’re calling it a limited edition.”
