With engagement rumours continuing to swirl around Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, HELLO! Online recently sat down for a chat with America-born fashion designer Ben de Lisi , to ask his opinion on the Suits star's style and how it differentiates from Duchess Kate's. The first question we needed to ask was whether he thought Meghan would follow Duchess Kate's wedding dress example....

"I think Meghan’s style is slightly younger than the Duchess of Cambridge, and slightly edgier, but that’s because Meghan is not walking in the role of a Princess and Kate is. Kate has embraced it beautifully, with style and class. Sometimes it borders on being very safe but I always think she pulls it off beautifully."

How would you define Meghan’s look and fashion choices?

“From photographs, I see her style as classic chic. It’s quite clean, and I don’t see it as gratuitous fashion trends - I like the concept of her wearing a white shirt and jeans and flats with a beautiful statement bag. I think she’s all about the understatement."

When it comes to spectacular wedding dress designs, Ben is a master, having created gowns for the likes of Kate Winslet and Helena Bonham-Carter. How did he envision Meghan's would-be wedding dress?

"The bell-shaped sleeve with soft flounces at the wrist brings a touch of femininity, while chalk-finish beads and seed pearls around the neckline create a subtle antiquing effect," said Ben. "The finishing touch is the gathered georgette train, which gives the dress grandeur."

Ben is one of eight designers we got to design a dress for Meghan in this week's HELLO! Magazine. Head to the poll now to have your say on which style Meghan would suit best...
