Adriana Lima has no intentions of retiring from the Victoria's Secret runway anytime soon. The 36-year-old model has been one of the lingerie brand's Angels since 1999 and while she has hordes of new faces at her heels, Adriana won't be hanging up her bra and panties until she's physically unable to strut her stuff.

"That's something that doesn't come into my head," she told People when asked if she has any plans to retire. "My plan is to stay as long as my body allows me, at least until I am 40, so that's four or so more years. But if I can stay longer, I will."

Adriana will be heading to Shanghai, China, for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this November, along with a host of beauties old and new. When it comes to those joining the line-up of the runway presentation for the first time, Adriana has some advice for the 2017 class.

Why Kendall Jenner won't walk at this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

"It's a huge career opportunity to be in the Victoria's Secret fashion show," she smiled. "They're going to have a great time. The girls are fun and there's not such a thing as competing with each other. It's all about enjoying ourselves so I'm sure that they may be nervous but once they get together they realise it's going to be easy, and it's going to be a fun show."

Adriana is also trying her luck in the reality TV world, hosting new competition American Beauty Star, in which 12 hair and make-up artists compete for one grand prize. On the show she's joined by Beyonce's make-up artist Sir John as a mentor to the contestants and she explains that the programme is educational as well as entertaining.

"(The contestants) are extremely talented," she noted. "But it's not just about who is best. We learn about who they were prior to the show, their goals, where they get inspired, their struggles. They also show you a lot of hair and make-up tips to do at home."
