Karl Lagerfeld is partnering with Vans on a capsule collection. Vans, the sneaker brand favoured by skaters, is having its signature chequered pattern reimagined by Lagerfeld, with the end result featuring a cameo print of the German designer's profile - a motif he uses for his namesake label.

Lagerfeld has also drawn inspiration from French fashion house Chanel, which he heads up along with Italian label Fendi, by using boucle fabric for the shoes. Quilted K letters are utilised as well.

There will be six new interpretations of classic Vans, including the Sk8-Hi laceless platform and Old Skool laceless styles which feature the quilted letter-shaped detail atop white platform soles. Fans of the Classic Slip-On will be able to pick up Lagerfeld's take on it too; a solid black leather version with a quilted K design.

The new designs will go on sale next month

Alongside the footwear, a T-shirt emblazoned with Lagerfeld's image, a black and white raglan sleeve bomber, and a premium leather backpack sporting the quilted letter K motif will also be available.

The line drops worldwide on 7 September, with prices ranging from $40 (£31) to $300 (£234). After debuting at the Bread and Butter trade show in Berlin, it will then hit shelves in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques and select Vans stores, as well as on both brands' websites.

This is the latest in a long line of collaborations for Lagerfeld, who has previously aligned himself with H&M for a sell-out line, Macy's and Fossil Watches, among others.
