The Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, has kicked off her 2017 in style! The royal attended her first engagement of the year on Wednesday sporting a beautiful blue coat by Eponine London.

Kate looked stylish in the blue ensemble

Kate is a big fan of the British brand, and has been spotted carrying out several engagements in their designs. This particular coat is from the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection and is a modern take on the traditional coat dress with graphic lines, a split collar and pleats.

The 35-year-old teamed the look with midnight blue suede court shoes and a black clutch.

Kate was visiting the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families to learn more about their work with families who have children under five years old.

The centre opened in April 2011 and offers an assessment and treatment programme for groups of parents with personality disorders and their children under five, who are at risk of being taken into care.

Kate met with parents who have completed the treatment programme and listened to their experiences of what brought them into the unit, their time in the programme and where they are in their lives now.

It was the latest in a series of royal engagements for the Duchess designed to draw attention to child mental health issues. She has become known for championing early intervention and working with the whole family to resolve problems with children.

Kate met with parents who have completed the treatment programme and listened to their experiences of what brought them into the unit, their time in the programme and where they are in their lives now.

She also watched a 'theraplay' session which promotes the attachment relationship between parents and children.

Earlier this week, Kate celebrated her birthday at home in Norfolk, spending the day quietly with her family. She accompanied the Queen to church on Sunday with her husband, Prince William. The Duchess of Cambridge's mother Carole Middleton, brother James Middleton and sister Pippa Middleton were also in attendance.

The mother-of-two looked typically stylish in a recycled dark green wool coat, thought to be from Sportmax, which she previously wore on a visit to Edinburgh in 2016.
