Is there anything she can't do? Cara Delevingne — one of, if not the, hottest models around — is set to make her TV acting debut, appearing in one-off drama Timeless for Sky Arts Playhouse Present series. The model will star as a young woman whose fiancé is serving in Afghanistan, bringing her closer to her great grandmother, played by celebrated British actress Sylvia Syms.

"It's a really touching story and I'm really honoured to be working with Sylvia in a one-off production for Playhouse Persents," Cara told Vogue. "This will be my first time working in television drama and I am excited by the opportunity. "It is part of a new series of one-off comedies and dramas for the Playhouse series on Sky Arts which also features actors such as Friends star Matthew Perry, comedienne Jo Brand and Ben Whishaw, whose breakout role was Q in the latest Bond movie Skyfall. Timeless has been scripted by Tim Firth, who wrote well-known movies Calendar Girls and Kinky Boots.

Cara has been focusing on her acting career recently, having starred alongside Amber Heard, Jim Sturgess and Billy Bob Thornton in the film adaptation of London Fields by Martin Amis. She also appeared in Anna Karenina and British movie Kids in Love. Cara is also set to play Melanie in director Michael Winterbottom's The Face of An Angel. Speaking about her move into acting, Cara recently said, "It wasn't a conscious thing. I just suddenly got one movie and then another one and then another one." She added, "That's what I want to do so it's a transition I'm going to make. "Perhaps she can get some acting tips from her Hollywood actress girlfriend Michelle Rodriguez, who is known for her role in Fast & Furious.
