Sarah Jessica Parker's four-year-old twins may be living proof that style is in the genes. Pint-size fashionistas Tabitha and Marion are often spotted stepping out in NYC with their actress mum, who shot to fame after playing style queen Carrie Bradshaw in hit TV show Sex and the City, sporting cute and on-trend outfits.
And Sarah Jessica has revealed that she is letting her daughters develop their own fashion sense by dressing themselves.
The little fashionistas are always impeccably dressed
"They're at an age – and have been for many years – where they really have their own identity," the actress told People magazine.
"So Sunday through Thursday, the rule is they can wear whatever they want. And if we go to the theatre or the ballet, I get a say. But it's really among choices that they approve of."
Back in 2013, Sarah Jessica spoke about her daughters' fashion choices. "Every afternoon at 3pm, when they wake up from their nap, they put together their outfits for the next day!" she said.
They take after their stylish mum
She also revealed that they won't take any advice from their super stylish mum."They won't listen. We just give them the temperature outside and if they don't pick enough clothing then we say, 'You need leggings or pants. You need to add something so you'll be warm enough'."
The proud mum added, "One is more serious than the other. Marion Loretta will sometimes say, 'Mama, can you help me?' but Tabitha is completely on her own. She's extremely independent."
In her interview with People, Sarah Jessica, who also has 13-year-old son James with husband Matthew Broderick, revealed that her children have another talent.
"They are preternaturally gifted artists," she said, adding that they "probably spend 80 per cent of their free time drawing. Every morning before breakfast, we have to drag them away from drawing and painting, even my son. They're far more gifted than I ever was!"
