Carole Middleton voted most glamorous grandmother

Carole Middleton has officially been crowned the most glamorous of grandmothers by the UK public, in a survey carried out by Kaleidoscope.

The 58-year old grandmother to the future king of England, who has called Prince George "absolutely beautiful", beat Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall to the title.

Carole pulled in an outstanding 40 per cent of the votes, while Camilla, 66, gained 2 per cent.

Other glamorous grandmothers included actress Goldie Hawn, 67, who is the mother of film star Kate Hudson, and X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne who became a grandmother earlier this year to her son Jack's daughter, Pearl.

"The baby's going to have to call me Shazza or Mrs O," said 60-year-old Sharon. "She is an angel."

The survey stated that 92 per cent of grandmothers now follow the latest fashion trends, and that over half of their grandchildren considered them to be stylish.

Carole Middleton no doubt fits the bill, as she is often seen wearing outfits that seem to be inspired by her Duchess daughter, Kate Middleton.

Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry also featured in the statistics, gaining a respectable 10 per cent of the vote, while Jane Fonda won 7 per cent.

This isn't the first time that Carole has fared well in a poll against women her age, and even her family members.

Fashion star Karl Lagerfeld said last year, "I think Carole is very sexy. I think the mother is sexier than the daughters." He went on to say that she was, "full of life".
