Queen Maxima's blue inauguration outfit triumphs in HELLO! reader vote

Out of the four beautiful outfits that Maxima of the Netherlands wore during the celebrations that saw her become queen last month, HELLO! Online readers voted the cobalt blue number their favourite. The Argentinean-born blonde wowed the world when she wore the lace-panelled, floor-sweeping gown and matching cape to the investiture ceremony. She was also flying the flag for Dutch fashion, having enlisted Dutch-based design Jan Taminiau to fashion her outfit.

The blue dress won with a staggering 68 per cent of the overall vote, while the pale pink satin dress by Belgium fashion house Natan that Maxima wore on the palace balcony came in second place with 14 per cent. The beautiful blonde was the epitome of elegance in the creation that featured intricate shoulder detailing and a skirt in embroidered silk. Natan has long been favoured by the European royals, to custom-make her all-important dress. Her daughters Amalia, Alexia and Ariane were also dressed in the brand's designs.

The second Jan Taminiau outfit of the day, the lace burgundy gown, came in third with just over 13 per cent. In last place was the red tiered Valentino gown that Maxima wore for the state dinner on the night before. It was no surprise that the beautiful blonde had called upon the Italian fashion house for this important occasion - Valentino designed her wedding gown and has remained one of her favourite designers ever since - but more astute fashion fans and royal watchers were surprised to recognise the dress. Maxima had already worn the creation once in 2008 at a Gala Party hosted by Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate the 60th birthday of her son Prince Charles.
