Fashion designer Zac Posen has created a one-of-a-kind 24-carat gold dress that is valued at $1.5million (£999,000). Following in the footsteps of fellow designer Karl Lagerfeld, Zac teamed up with ice cream company Magnum to design the showstopping number which is inspired by the brand's latest product – a gold ice cream bar entitled Magnum Gold. The 32-year-old, who is a judge on Project Runway, said: "Creating my first ever 24-carat gold dress was a truly priceless experience.

"I'm naturally drawn to luxury and love to push my creativity, so the design process of creating a couture dress made of gold was thrilling." He continued: "I pulled inspiration from Magnum Gold for the dress design. The train reminds me of melting ice cream. The dress is so decadent." The gown will be unveiled alongside a short film, starring actor Joe Manganiello and Caroline Correa, which will be screened during the Tribeca Film Festival on April 18.

"The irresistible decadence of Magnum Gold ice cream will be brought to life in short film As Good As Gold, by Emmy-award winning director Jon Cassar," a spokesperson for the brand said. "Manganiello plays a gold thief who falls for the beautiful, but dangerous, Correa as she wears Posen's gold dress. In the film, he finds out the hard way that all bets are off when it comes to women who pursue pleasures that are as good as gold." This isn't Magnum's first foray into the fashion world. In 2011, the label worked with Karl Lagerfeld and Rachel Bilson to create a three-part short film series. Chanel model Baptiste Giabiconi directed former OC star Rachel, who demanded a Magnum to continue during a fashion shoot.
