Victoria Beckham shares behind-the-scenes photos after successful NYFW shows

Victoria Beckham's New York Fashion Week Victoria collection behind the scenes

Victoria Beckham’s two New York Fashion Week shows received rave reviews and once the enthusiastic applause had died down, she shared behind-the-scenes shots of her ready-to-wear show on Tuesday.

Close up photos showed the more affordable Victoria collection which featured a decidedly androgynous "boy-meets-girl" vibe, masculine tailoring and feminine silhouettes. The monochrome palette du jour dominated, with grey and navy complementing the subdued shades, lifted with splashes of berry and copper. Oversized charcoal knitted hats and chic brown leather bags adorned the fresh-faced models.

The 38-year-old designer unveiled her mainline collection on Sunday at New York's Public Library and garnered acclaim from the highest ranks of the fashion industry with Vogue's UK editor Alexandra Shulman tweeting her delight as soon as Mrs Beckham had taken her bow. "So pleased, the Victoria Beckham show was so good," she said.

And throughout her busy and no doubt testing week, the-mum-of-four had daughter Harper by her side. Victoria tweeted pictures of the youngest Beckham toddling around the catwalk as she geared up for her Sunday night show.

"Amazing show today, my no.1 girl" she wrote below the black and white image of her tiny toddler. Harper and her dad David had been in the Big Apple to watch Victoria cement her reputation as designer. During the Sunday show, David sat alongside Vogue's first lady Anna Wintour as his wife showcased her wares.

Speaking about the girl she had in mind when designing this line, Victoria says: "I feel like the Victoria, Victoria Beckham girl this season is an engaged intellectual with a sense of humour.

In reference to the total lack of trousers in the collection, she continues: "She can wear anything with aplomb yet she chooses the simplicity of a dress. She marches rather than walks, she drinks espresso, and she devours books and art and film. And she is subversively sexy without trying.

"I'd like to meet her…" Victoria concluded.
