Girl-next-door to glamazon: Jennifer Lawrence's red carpet transformation

With her babydoll face, flawless complexion and honey-hued locks, Jennifer Lawrence was recently voted the "world's most desirable woman". But the bubbly 22-year-old's look was not always this glamorous. Before she found fame in films such as Winter's Bone and The Hunger Games, she had more of a girl-next-door style that she put on display at one of her first red-carpet outings. Stepping out for the premiere in LA, she paraded her perfect pins in a tight, off-the-shoulder minidress. Her wavy, sunkissed hair completed the laidbacklook.

As her star has ascended, so has her access to some of Tinseltown's hottest stylists. In the space of three years, she has quickly become an actress that the hottest designers are clamouring to dress. Now the face of Christian Dior, Jennifer stunned at the Golden Globes earlier this year in the French brand's beautiful floor-sweeping red gown with a sculpted bodice, accessorising with a Salvatore Ferragamo box clutch. And her appearance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards was no less showstopping – a deep blue, strapless haute couture dress, also from Christian Dior, ensured all eyes were on Jennifer. The BAFTAs are next up on the actress' awards seasons schedule, and fashion fans are keen to see what the American beauty will wow Britain with.

But the million-dollar question is what Jennifer will choose to wear for the Oscars – the biggest night in movies and fashion. While she is refusing to name the designer or reveal any precise details about the inevitably show-stopping gown that she will pick, she chatted to reporters at the Nominees Luncheon about making the decision. The actress joked that she was going to wear sweatpants, before revealing that while she hasn't yet picked the frock, she has decided on something tight-fitting to pull her in. "I've been thinking about it," Jennifer, who is nominated for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, told USA Today. "We have some sketches together, but nothing is decided. Last year, it was comfort. This year, it's like suck-it-up. Wear a corset. Yeah, we're going to go for fashion." When the blonde beauty attended the Oscars for the first time, in 2011, she thought eating a Philly cheesesteak and fries would calm her down. But she revealed that she is not going to make that mistake twice, laughing: "I had to double my Spanx!"
