The LBD is a perennial celebrity red carpet favourite. But a host of small screen sirens eschewed the classic style in favour of all-white as they stepped out for the National Television Awards on Wednesday night. Leading the white hot pack was X Factor star Tulisa, who showed off her lovely curves in a floor length, Grecian gown that featured a plunging neckline and thigh-high split. The NDubz singer kept the emphasis on her frock with a simple ponytail. She was joined by Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, who is currently dating former TOWIE star Mark Wright. The raven-haired beauty was every inch a red carpet mermaid in a fishtail frock adorned with a snakeskin pattern in a shimmering fabric. Wavy locks cascading over her shoulders completed the look.

And Dancing on Ice judge Ashley Roberts, who picked up an award for I'm A Celebrity, showed off her style credentials as she stepped out at London's 02 Arena sporting an elegant, floor-sweeping white gown that featured a stunning embroidered neckline and loose, old Hollywood waves. Also posing up on the red carpet was her former Pussycat Dolls bandmaster Nicole Scherzinger, who is a judge on the UK X Factor. Nicole had stuck to simple black, showing off her incredible physique in a long-sleeved gown that boasted a plunging neckline and a thigh-high split. Holly Willoughby was also keeping it classic in black, putting her womanly curves on display in a flattering capped-sleeve, skin-tight dress. The This Morning presenter, posed up with her good friend Christine Bleakley on the red carpet.

Frank Lampard's fiancée Christine, who is a Dancing On Ice presenter alongside Phillip Schofield, was traffic-stopping in a scarlet maxigown with lace panelling. Another lady in red was Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly, whose lacy gown offset her beach blonde locks to perfection. The stunning ladies were joined by stars from the nation's best soaps including EastEnders, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks. And the Hollyoaks ladies made sure they injected a bit of sparkle into the evening, with blonde babe Jorgie Porter wearing a cream gown with crystal embellishments on the shoulders. And Claire Cooper, who plays Jacqui McQueen in the Channel 4 soap opera, shimmered as she glided down the red carpet in a stunning cream creation adorned with thousands of tiny sequins. After braving the freezing temperatures to pose for the waiting cameras, the star headed inside the ceremony, where Strictly Come Dancing topped the talent show stakes as it secured its first best talent show gong in its broadcasting history.

Tess Daly, the presenter of the series. was thrilled to pick up the gong after five years of waiting, beating X Factor to the title for the first time in the show's history. The star opted for red lacy decadence to pick up the gong. "It's Strictly's tenth year and this is the icing on the cake," said the presenter. Kimberley Walsh also made an appearance at the ceremony as she made her first solo performance at the event. The singer and Strictly Come Dancing contestant performed a rendition of Randy Crawford's One Day I'll Fly Away at the the awards show, which took place at the 02 in Greenwich. Glittering in a blue strapless gown, the singer wrote on Twitter that she was thrilled that the BBC show had taken the best talent show gong. "Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!! So happy that Strictly Come Dancing won the NTA's! Such an amazing show to be a part of!" said Kimberley, who came runner-up to gymnast Louis Smith in the last series.
