Kelly Osbourne crowned style icon at fashion awards

Kelly Osbourne's recent transition from hot topic to high fashion earned her the V05 ultimate style icon award at Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the year awards

Replacing her quirky teenage style, Kelly Osbourne transformed into a fashion maven on Tuesday when she won the Ultimate Style Icon award at Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards.

Taking to the stage with stars such as Olympic winner Jessica Ennis and X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos at London's Victoria and Albert Museum, Kelly revealed ''I used to look like s**t. I never thought I'd get a style award.''

But as she graced the red carpet in a form-fitting silk floral print dress, peep-toe stilettos and her purple-dyed waves over one shoulder, the 28-year-old TV star definitely looked a winner.

Opting for a water colour rose print showstopper with shades of silver and lilac to compliment her pale purple locks, Kelly exuded elegance, while retaining her creative edge.

Despite looking confident as ever at the star-studded event with boyfriend Matthew Mosshart by her side, Kelly admits she has had constant struggles with her appearance.

The Fashion Police critic revealed ''Cosmo putting me on their cover a couple of years ago did wonders for my self-esteem.''

Kelly was joined at the awards by Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, singer Alesha Dixon and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke who went monochrome mad in classic white and black.

Alesha dared to wear a trouser suit with contrasting red satin heels to match her red lips, while Alexandra and Millie wore demure, full-length gowns that showed off their figures.
