Kanye West and SJP cuddle up at stylish Big Apple bash

They’re not known to be the best friends, but Kanye West and Sarah Jessica Parker certainly looked close on Tuesday night as they cosied up together for the cameras.

Sarah cuddled into the rapper, laying a hand on his chest as the ultra fashionable pair attended the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M bash in New York, a swanky bash boasting the crème of the fashion industry.

The Carrie Bradshaw alter ego was putting her typically quirky style on display with a flowing gown that she layered with an oversized jacket.

And Kanye had opted out of wearing his signature leather trousers, instead pairing white jeans with a camel coat from the women’s wear collection.

The pair mingled with fellow guests in the worn-down, nine-storey property in downtown Manhattan, an unusual setting that reflected the descontructed, off beat vibe that the Belgian brand boasts.

Mena Suvari was also the talk of the town in the label's trompe l'oeil top.

The flesh-hued number had a black bra painted on it, which had onlookers doing double takes.

She posed for the cameras with her actress partner in crime Selma Blair, who shared her thoughts on the collaboration.

"This is so much bang for your buck," said Selma, who was sporting a black, draped number, of the collection.

"This was the one [outfit] that made me laugh the most and made me cry when I tried to get into it tonight. I kept trying to put my hands through the sleeves, and you're not supposed to!" the Cruel Intentions star laughed.

Helena Christensen was putting her most fashionable foot forward at the event, stepping out in a black leather, tight-fitting dress that showed off her supermodel physique to perfection.

Julianne Moore also kept it simple and stuck to all black-ensemble with a leather tuxedo.

Event producer Susanne Bartsch, meanwhile, looked suitably outrageous in a gothic lace ensemble with matching eye accessories.

The Maison Martin Margiela with H&M range launches online and in selected H&M stores worldwide on November 15.
