Martha Stewart has opened up about her friend Blake Lively's new lifestyle website Preserve.
Asked how she felt about Blake venturing into the lifestyle business and "becoming the next Martha Stewart", the 72-year-old businesswoman replied: "Let her try."
"I don’t mean that facetiously!" she added, laughing. "I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress? I just did a movie yesterday, though – I can't even tell you about it – but I want to be Blake Lively."

Martha and Blake become friends after the actress moved into her New York neighbourhood.
"She moved into my neighbourhood around the corner from my house," Martha told the Huffington Post. "And they started to come over, not to borrow sugar, but just as friends.
"In a way, [Blake's] kind of shy – not shy on the screen, at all, if you've seen any of Blake's movies – but very shy in person," she said of the former Gossip Girl star.
Blake launched her lifestyle website earlier this month
"But she's a baker and a homemaker and now she's starting her own blog… I haven't seen it yet."
Blake recently claimed her wedding "was becoming a disaster" before she and Ryan asked her "idol" Martha to oversee the event in South Carolina.
The blonde beauty also admitted she had no problem being compared to Martha or Gwyneth Paltrow's website Goop.
"I'm always the first person to defend Gwyneth Paltrow," she said. "Or any woman in a position of power, like Martha Stewart or Oprah, who gets burned because they have paved the path for so many other women who are doing something they believe in.'
