Two days previously the mother-of-four wore an elegant grey skirt and black blouse with a tan belt when she visited a kindergarten school that uses the 'Read and Play' concept developed by the princess' charity, The Mary Foundation.

Earlier in the week Queen Mathilde was photographed in a wide-necked blue dress and matching heels as she and her husband King Philippe received the Governors of the Belgian Provinces at the Royal Palace in Brussels.

The Duchess of Cambridge left her boys, Prince William and Prince George, at home on Thursday night when she played a starring role at SportsAid's annual ball.

Kate was the epitome of sophistication in a black knee length dress by Alice Temperley, accessorising her look with a red clutch bag and £450 Jimmy Choo Cosmic suede black pumps.
