Princess Mette-Marit sells old clothes online

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway has put a selection of her clothes up for auction on the local version of eBay.

Fans of the royal were delighted with the 31-item lot that includes designer clothing from Marni, Chloe, YSL and DKNY as well as high street offerings from Reiss, Filippa K and Banana Republic.

Knee-length boots from Dolce & Gabbana are on offer, as are Roger Vivier high heels, a shirt from Ultra Ozbek and a coat by Italian designer Alberto Biani.

The proceeds of the auction are going to Milijoagentene, an environmental charity. The princess sold off her first batch on clothes for the charity on the auction site in June of last year.

"Many of our clothes can be reused rather than discarded," she wrote to introduce the sale on Bloppis. "Protect the environment in a fun and easy way."

Mette-Marit is known for her simple yet elegant style that has won her international praise.
