Jackie Kennedy: honouring her 84th birthday through fashion

by hellofashion.com /

Former First Lady Jackie Kennedy set a new standard for glamour in the White House.

She enthralled the public with her elegant style, fast cementing her status as a fashion icon. Now, she is universally celebrated as one of the best dressed women of all time.

In honour of what would have been her 84th birthday on July 28th, HELLO! Online has compiled some of Jackie's best looks.

The New York native, who was famously married to President John F. Kennedy until his death in 1963, moved women away from rigid, ladylike dressing onto a more relaxed, glamorous look that included wide-leg trousers, oversized sunglasses and espadrilles.

Sleek shifts, pillbox hats and a natural approach to make-up that played up the eyes also made up her much-admired wardrobe.

Some of the designers she favoured included Coco Chanel, Givenchy and Christian Dior.
