Beyoncé had fans doing a double take on Wednesday as she showed off a new blonde hairstyle in a teaser for her latest music video. In the clip for Grown Woman, the popstar is seen rocking a platinum 'do that is offset by bright red lipstick. The new single is one of Beyoncé's songs from her fifth studio album Mrs. Carter, which will be released later this year.

In other Beyoncé news, the mum has just been named an honorary chair-person of one of the most prestigious events in the fashion calendar – the Costume Institute Benefit, or Met Ball, as it is more commonly known. The superstar songstress joins the likes of Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisco, Hollywood fashionista Rooney Mara and fashion's queen bee herself Anna Wintour in their hosting roles at the annual event. Beyoncé has had many memorable red carpet moments at the Met Ball over the years, a factor that is likely to have played a part in the committee's decision to enlist her. She was the talk of the town in 2012, setting flashbulbs blazing as she stepped out in a partly transparent Givenchy Haute Couture purple feather gown with an impressive train.

Not to mention the dramatic fishtail gown by Emilio Pucci that she wore to the swanky bash in 2011. This year's gala will pay tribute to the Punk movement, and the fashion world is already talking about how Beyoncé will interpret the theme. It celebrates the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibiton, and will look at punk’s impact on high fashion from the movement's inception in the 1970s to its continuing influence today. Andrew Bolton, the Costume Institute curator, previously said: ''Punk broke all the rules when it came to fashion, and everything became possible after punk. ''Its impact on high fashion became so enormous, and continues at the same time." The 14 looks include fashion houses like Chanel, Versace, Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. The exhibition runs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City from May 9 to August 14.

Beyonce seems to be making a name for herself in the world of fashion. She was recently revealed as the new face of H&M, staring in the Swedish retail giant's summer campaign. The print and billboard images, which were shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, see her relaxing on a beach sun lounger by the sea in the Bahamas as she poses in swimwear. The adverts will introduce the star: "Beyoncé as Mrs Carter in H&M". "I've always liked H&M's focus on fun, affordable fashion," Beyoncé said about the collaboration. "I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements – fire, water, earth and wind." She continued: "It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial." The campaign features both beachwear and swimwear items, including a bikini from the H&M for Water collection, which raises money for WaterAid.
