'Prepare to have your mind blown!': Zooey, Jessica and Michelle talk Globes fashion

For many, the Golden Globe red carpet fashion is just as important than the ceremony itself.

Stars spend weeks painstakingly picking through handfuls of designer frocks in their quest for the perfect ensemble.

"It is the first big red carpet of the year and the stars really want to start off on the right foot," the creative team behind luxury brand and renowned celeb-favourite Marchesa once said.

So with the prestigious awards ceremony just days away, attention has turned to the show-stopping attire the attending A-list have ready and waiting.

"Prepare to have your mind blown!" New Girl star Zooey Deschanel’s stylist told The Hollywood Reporter.

"I'm not kidding," she added. "It's one of the best dresses I've ever seen. It may be the best dress I've ever seen."

Other stars are less forthcoming about their outfit choices.

When asked if she had her perfect dress lined up, Michelle Williams replied: “I do,” but vowed to say nothing further on the matter.

“It spoils the fun,” she said. “It would ruin the surprise.”

Jessica Alba is also keeping schtum, but has revealed that hers is “something that fits and that I won’t trip up on.”

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara, meanwhile, has been more obliging.

"We had a big meeting. I tried on a lot of things," the Colombian beauty explained.

"I have two favourites. I get them ready, and that day, it depends on what everybody says and how I feel."

And George Clooney, who will be presenting an award at the ceremony, is also up to date with his preparations.

When asked how he is feeling as Sunday approaches, the actor replied, in typical deadpan style: “Good. I’ve got my dress picked out.”
