Model student Lily Cole in a class of her own alongside Dame Helen Mirren

She's in her second year at Cambridge, but the beanie hats and grungy outfits normally associated with undergraduates have been left at the back of her wardrobe lately.

The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus actress Lily Cole has been a vision of movie-star glamour as she works the festival circuit to promote the film – Heath Ledger's swansong.

She stood out from the crowd in a full-length corseted Dolce & Gabbana frock for the premiere at Rome's film fest that played up her Pre-Raphaelite beauty.

Sharing the red carpet with some of cinema's most luminous figure was probably all the incentive she needed for her stunning turn.

Hot on her heels was Helen Mirren presenting The Last Station, a historical drama about Russian author Tolstoy's struggle to balance fame with his commitment to a life devoid of material things.

The sexiest dame in the movie world didn't disappoint her fans, putting in an elegant appearance in an ultra-chic gown featuring an outsize bow and diamond brooch.
