Kate recycles burgundy skirt suit for outing in Wales

The Duchess of Cambridge looked as chic as ever as she stepped out for an official engagement in Wales on Wednesday. The royal was recycling a gorgeous burgundy skirt suit that she first wore in 2012. The ensemble, designed by French brand Paule Ka, features a double-breasted jacket and short skirt with horizontal ribbing. The berry hue makes it a perfect Autumn/Winter look – topical given the theme of the current fashion weeks taking place.

Kate paired her Paula Ka look with black tights, a black rollneck and the Stuart Weitzman ‘Halfnhalf’ boots. A half-up, half-down hair style completed her elegant look. Kate also wore black gloves to keep out the chill.

The 35-year-old was visiting South Wales to meet vulnerable and disadvantaged families who are being supported by the charity, Action for Children. Kate took over the patronage from Her Majesty the Queen in December, and during her first engagement as patron, the Duchess saw two of the charity’s projects.

A spokesman for Prince William's wife had previously said that Kate was "incredibly proud" to follow in the Queen's footsteps. "The Duchess firmly believes that every child who needs it should be given the best support at the earliest opportunity, and is pleased to support their important work," they said. "She is looking forward to getting to know the people that make Action for Children such a success and meeting the young people they work with."
