Stella McCartney's fashion shows are never short of star power. The unveiling of her latest collection in Paris was no exception as a host of celebrities came together to show their support for the British designer. Sitting front row was her biggest admirer – father and music legend Paul McCartney, who was overheard calling his daughter "the best" after the show. "I thought it was beautiful. Very strong, very clean," he said.

The proud father attended the show with his wife Nancy Shevell, both of them having dressed casually for the occasion in matching light denim jeans. Nancy, 52, teamed her denims with a fuschia shirt, brown boots and a snakeskin handbag. Paul wasn't the only rockstar in the audience – U2 frontman Bono and his wife Ali Hewson also attended the presentation.

Heading up the Hollywood contingent was Jessica Alba, who was channelling monochrome chic in a skinny black tux and white shirt that she paired with strappy heels. On the front row she joined fellow monochrome-clad star Nicole Richie.

The guests looked impressed with Stella's latest offerings. Paying tribute to her Savile Row background, the 41-year-old unveiled a collection infused with androgyny and impeccable tailoring.

"Women have a masculine side and if you tap into that you find another part of yourself," the designer said backstage. "It was a redirection of Stella classics, things I do instinctively and effortlessly, so paying homage to Britain and its classic tailoring and inserting a new femininity, bringing a sensual woman into it all. These are clothes to slot into your wardrobe. When we were making this collection, I just kept thinking I want to wear that."

Menswear fabrics reigned in a selection of outerwear, while easy sweatshirts provided the sportier side and jumpsuits stayed true to Stella's signature style.
