Christian Louboutin has unveiled his first-ever shoe designs for babies. The French footwear designer has built his eponymous label around his signature red-soled high heels, which are coveted by fashionistas such as Kim Kardashian, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez.

Since launching his brand in 1991, Louboutin has branched into men's footwear, accessories and cosmetics, but he has now created a line of shoes for tiny tots in collaboration with his friend Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop lifestyle brand.

"I remember the first conversation which led us to the collaboration," he said in a statement. "There is nothing that I favour more than a good tete-a-tete, and for that, Gwyneth is a great partner in crime. When friendship meets work, the results are serious fun."

Louboutin's first baby shoe has been dubbed as the "Loubibaby" and is a Mary Jane design, featuring a bow on the front and a red sole. At present, the shoe is available in pink and blue satin, and shiny gold, and will be priced at $250 (£185). It will be available to purchase from Goop's website from 15 November and the company's pop-up boutiques across the U.S. during the holiday season.

The line follows on from the designer's partnership with Paltrow on four other women's shoe designs for the Goop website, with the exclusive range including the teal suede Konstantina high heel with a pom-pom detail and the Lovely Flat Loafer with grey flannel fabric and black tassels.

"Goop's fashion ethos has always centred on trendless quality. It was an honour to work with Christian and his team to design the quintessential collection of fall classics: true investment pieces that we - and eventually our daughters and nieces - will wear for years," added Paltrow.
