All the details on Prince George's school uniform

The young royal will start his first day of school this September

Prince George will be starting school this September, with Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's little boy set to begin his education at Thomas's Battersea. George will no doubt look as cute as a button on his first day, decked out in the school's blue and red uniform. Hopefully, with the warmer weather staying put, George will be able to arrive on his first day in the summer uniform, which consists of a dove blue short sleeve shirt, navy Bermuda shorts, and the Thomas's navy pullover, complete with the school's crest emblazoned in red.

If the sun is really shining, then George will be no doubt wear a white summer hat, all of which are available to buy online at John Lewis, with prices ranging from £3 and reaching £42 per piece.

If the weather is slightly colder, George will look just as smart in the Thomas's winter uniform, which will see him dressed in a red long sleeved polo neck, navy Bermuda shorts, the Thomas's navy pullover and a co-ordinating waterproof coat. The young royal, who is, more often than not, dressed in shorts and socks during public appearances with his family, will complete his outfit with a pair of red knee-high socks and smart black shoes.

Other essentials required for children attending the prestigious school include a red art smock, a navy tracksuit for sports, a house coloured T-shirt for games and a pair of white trainers. Other optional items, as listed on the school's uniform list, include a navy games bag and a Thomas's rucksack. If Kate and William decide to buy all the items on the uniform list, they will be looking at spending over £300 on their little boy's first year.

It was announced back in March that Prince George had been enrolled at Thomas's Battersea. Ben Thomas, headmaster of the school, said: "We are honoured and delighted that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen Thomas's Battersea for Prince George. We greatly look forward to welcoming him and all of our new pupils to the school in September."
