Catherine Walker & Co, the Duchess of Cambridge’s go-to fashion designer celebrated 40 years of bespoke British couture on Thursday by hosting a floral-themed fashion show to coincide with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The Chelsea-based atelier, which Carole Middleton wore to her daughter, Pippa's wedding last weekend, opened the show up to the public, treating them to a spectacular display of colourful summer-ready ensembles.

Models showcased Catherine Walker & Co's ultra-feminine collection

Ten models walked along the Kings Road in Chelsea wearing beautiful floral hair pieces, in pastel tones of powder-pink, duck egg-blue and soft lilac, along with brazen reds, greens and crisp white. They showcased the label’s striking handcrafted SS17 collection, which is made up of whimsical, ultra-pretty dresses in flowy, feminine fabrics.

The fashion event was open to the public on Thursday

The fashion event also debuted a limited-edition ruby and diamond pendant, retailing at £2,500, co-designed by the brand’s co-founder and head designer, Said Cyrus, who collaborated with bespoke jeweller Gismondi1754. 20% of proceeds from each sale will be donated to Breast Cancer Haven.

Catherine Walker & Co has long been a favourite with royalty, having dressed the late Princess Diana for 16 years – with many of its designs currently on exhibition at Kensington Palace’s Diana: Her Fashion Story. The brand designs two collections each year, seeing a swarm of beautiful cocktail dresses, suitably smart business suits, coat dresses – a firm favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge, and wedding dresses.

Kate wore a striking green Catherine Walker & Co coat back in March

Back in March, Kate was a vision in a stylish green coat by Catherine Walker & Co, which she wore when accompanying her husband Prince William to the St Patrick’s Day parade at Cavalry Barracks in Hounslow. The bespoke design featured double breasted gold button detailing and contrasting black collar and trims.

Meanwhile, to Pippa’s wedding, Carole looked sophisticated as she stepped out in a pale pink jacket by the designer, whose designs she also dressed in for the wedding of oldest daughter Kate back in 2011 – where she chose an elegant sky blue Catherine Walker & Co. coat dress.
