Lorraine Kelly suffered a rare fashion faux pas on Wednesday when viewers spotted that she was wearing her dress the wrong way round. The Scottish TV presenter wore a black floral dress from high street retailer Next to host her eponymous ITV show, but fashion fans soon noticed there was something amiss with her ensemble.

A glimpse at the product on the retailer's website shows that Lorraine had indeed worn her dress the wrong way round, as it has high neck with exposed zip detail at the front and a plunging V neck at the back. However Lorraine was unfazed by her mistake, as a message from her show's official Twitter account read: "We love the versatility of this dress!" along with a winking face emoji.

The mistake comes just a couple of weeks after Lorraine admitted to having a wardrobe malfunction while she was getting ready for the National Television Awards in January. Speaking on her show the day after the awards, Lorraine said she was almost ready to leave the house in a dress she described as a "showstopper".

A tweet from the star's TV show account insisted the dress was "versatile"

"I had a real showstopper of a dress lined up. It was white and shimmery but I put my heel straight through the fabric," she said. "That was a big lesson. Don't put your heels on before your dress. I couldn't believe it. The car was literally waiting for me outside."

The Scottish star also dished out some words of wisdom to her viewers. "Always have a spare dress in your wardrobe," she said. "You've got to have a plan B."

Viewers were none the wiser to Lorraine's fashion faux pas, as she still looked glamorous on the red carpet in a champagne coloured Damsel in a Dress gown and shimmering clutch bag, with her hair tied back in a loose chignon.
