Christie Brinkley has now modelled for Sports Illustrated magazine nine times throughout her career, but she has admitted that she was once "insecure" and worried she wouldn't be "good enough" for the publication. The 63-year-old got emotional in a behind-the-scenes video for her recent swimwear shoot, where she posed alongside her daughters Alexa Ray Joel, 31, and Sailor Brinkley Cook, 18.

"This is a real full circle moment for me," Christie said through tears in the video. "I can get very emotional about this. How many years ago, I was that insecure girl hoping that I would be good enough for the magazine. So to see my daughters now having the same thoughts I had, and to be able to see them actually be there on the job, was definitely a big moment."

Christie added: "I couldn't even believe my ears when I got the call that MJ wanted to shoot my daughters and me. I was thrilled." The news was met with equal excitement by Christie's daughters, with Alexa Ray admitting that the shoot was a learning curve as she hasn't modelled much before.

"It was definitely entertaining — a little bit of a reality TV moment," she said. "We all have our own style. And Sailor is kind of the young new little, perfect little, sporty little model. My mum is almost, I tease her, that she's ADD in terms of how much energy she has. She literally can't stop moving. And I'm still new at this and I was just trying to maintain my focus."

Christie, 63, stunned fans when her new swimwear shoot was released on Tuesday, 38 years after she first graced the Sports Illustrated Swimwear edition cover. The model appeared to be thrilled with the final images, as she excitedly shared a photo from the shoot with her fans on Instagram. The stunning photo shows Christie appearing to walk on water as she stands between her two daughters, who are both smiling while wearing black bikinis.

"Yes! I am excited to announce that I am back in @si_swimsuit… I figured with my gorgeous daughters @alexarayjoel and @sailorbrinkleycook by my side whose going to be looking at me! Oh and my kids think I walk on water, so let's not mention the apple box concealed just under the surface," Christie captioned the photo.

The mother-of-three continued to thank the publication for inviting her to star in the shoot, and "sending the powerful message that good things come in packages of every size and we do not come with an expiration date!"
