With 36.5 million followers to date, it comes as no surprise that Kendall is ahead of the pack when it comes to social media. Not only has she gained a fan base from her family's hit reality TV show, but the rising star has continued to make waves in the fashion industry ever since her Fashion Week debut last year, from landing campaigns for major designers including Givenchy and Balmain to becoming the face of beauty giant Estée Lauder.

Taking second place was Kendall's close friend Cara Delevingne, with 19.2 million followers. Renowned for her sense of humour and quirky backstage photos, Cara was hailed as a social media queen when she first burst onto the modelling scene. Despite her announcement earlier this year that she would be taking a break from modelling to focus on her acting career, the star still wowed in campaigns including her second campaign with Kate Moss.

Rising supermodel Gigi Hadid also featured on the list

The third spot went to rising star Gigi Hadid, who currently has 5.9 million followers. Gigi's modelling career has been going from strength to strength, with the blonde beauty landing major gigs including becoming the face of Topshop, so it comes as no surprise that her ever-growing fan base continues to rise.

Victoria's Secret angel Candice Swanepoel closely followed, with her followers also almost reaching the 6 million mark. The South African beauty often shares new campaign images and behind-the-scene peeks at her glamorous photoshoots, as well as being renowned for keeping her fans in the loop ahead of the highly anticipated Victoria's Secret Fashion Shows.
