The Green Carpet Collection has already worked with the likes of Emma Watson and Erdem, and now the eco-friendly collective can count shoe maestro Sergio Rossi as a new collaborator. The shoe designer is the first accessories label to create a Green Carpet Collection.

Sergio Rossi has collaborated with Eco-Age, run by Colin Firth's wife Livia

The project is part of the work of Eco-Age, a consultancy spear-headed by Colin Firth's wife Livia, and will become available in a selection of the label's boutiques this week.

"I am hugely excited about this accessory launch as it represents a significant milestone for Eco-Age," Firth told Vogue. "For the very first time, we now have a complete Green Carpet Challenge look - head to toe!"

"Working with Sergio Rossi was an absolute pleasure," she added. "The company is completely committed to sustainable production and it was fantastic collaborating with Angelo [Ruggeri, the label's collection and design director], which brought me back to my Italian roots."

The collection, which includes butterfly-inspired shoes, is made of eco-friendly chrome-free leather sourced from Europe, while a matching pochette has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Emma Watson has been embracing the Green Carpet Challenge

The Green Carpet Challenge has already been embraced by many stars, including Emma Watson who recently vowed to champion relatively unknown designers and local artisans who promote sustainability and eco-friendly design methods during her promotional tour for upcoming movie Regression.

"Kicking off Regression! We [heart] our rail!" she captioned a photo on her Instagram which featured a rail of her upcoming outfits. "Inspired to consider the whole process of creating a fashion look, we are thinking about all the people, pieces and moving parts! This rack includes designers that are considering local craft and production, artisan skills, the environment, sustainability and the longevity of fashion!"

Since then, the star has been posting photos of her ensembles for her 3.4 million followers, including details of her outfits and why she has chosen specific designers.
