Kendall Jenner, 19, has taken the fashion world by storm ever since she made her Fashion Week debut, and now it seems she has been catapulted to supermodel status. Chanel creative director and style maestro Karl Lagerfeld has described her as 'the girl of the moment' in a behind-the-scenes video of the making of his latest campaign for Karl Lagerfeld Eyewear, which stars Kendall.

Karl Lagerfeld has called Kendall Jenner 'the girl of the moment'

"She's great and modern and the girl of the moment," Karl says, just moments after the Keeping up with the Kardashians star introduces herself as being 'Team Karl'.

The short clip highlights Kendall's model credentials as she and fellow model Baptiste Giabiconi pose together in different pieces from the range, while being photographed for the campaign by Karl himself.

It comes as no surprise that Kendall has landed yet another modelling gig with Karl – not only did she walk for Chanel at her first Fashion Week last year, but she has since featured in his shows every season since.

The reality TV star previously opened up about how grateful she was at having been acknowledged by some of the industry's biggest designers.

"I am so grateful to Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Karl Lagerfeld and Katie Grand who took a chance on me that first season and gave me an opportunity," she told V magazine. In the same interview, the young model opened up about her family's fame and how at times it had threatened to end her modelling career before it had even started.

"You have no idea how many doors closed on me," she said. "And how many adults were initially reluctant to take a chance working with me or who outright laughed at me behind my back."
