The Met Ball is one of the most glamorous events in the fashion industry's calendar, as A-listers step out on the red carpet in dazzling high fashion couture gowns. This year, fashionistas will be delighted to hear they can get an insider's sneak peek at the prestigious event, with this year's gala set to get its own documentary.

Jennifer Lawrence will co-host the 2015 Met Ball

Filmmaker Andrew Rossi will be shooting the documentary which focuses on the preparation for this year's exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass. Jennifer Lawrence will be co-hosting the stylish event on 4 May joined by Marissa Mayer, Gong Li and of course, iconic editor Anna Wintour. The exhibition will feature representations of China, with over a hundred couture pieces from world's biggest designers including Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton. Curator Andrew Bolton spoke to WWD about the display: "The West's interest in China seems to be intensifying, and China's cultural influence on the West seems to have reached new heights."

The documentary will give fans an insider's glimpse behind-the-scenes of the glitzy event

With tickets to the gala reportedly costing $25,000 per person, the highly-anticipated documentary, created by Condé Nast Entertainment, Vogue and Relativity Studios, will allow those of us on a budget to experience all the glamour from the comfort of our own homes. "This will be an extraordinary opportunity for a global audience to see what goes on before and after guests walk the red carpet," Tucker Tooley, the president of Relativity said in a statement to Variety. "Including months of preparation for the exhibition and storied gala, culminating in the big opening night." A release date has yet to be confirmed, but anticipation has already been building for the insider glimpse at one of the world's most star-studded events.
