Having conquered the world of womenswear, Karl Lagerfeld is now creating a kidswear line. The collection will be housed under the designer's eponymous line in collaboration with Groupe CWF, who are already responsible for the childrenswear extensions of Chloé, Burberry, DKNY and Marc Jacobs. The range will be unveiled for Spring 2016 and will comprise ready-to-wear and accessories for newborn to 16-year-olds girls and boys.

"The announcement reflects the brand's ongoing commitment to newness and will allow Karl Lagerfeld to share its ironic, playful, creative vision to a young audience," read a statement from the brand. "The Karl Lagerfeld Kidswear collection presents a unique opportunity to share our cool, ironic, iconic DNA with a wider Karl Lagerfeld audience," added Pier Paolo Righi, CEO and president of the label.

Hudson is the son of Brad Kroenig, one of Karl's muses

"Due to our brand's wide appeal, our expansions into the juniors market is a natural fit to further enhance our reach." Karl may not have designed clothes for children before, but he has called on his adorable little godson, Hudson Kroenig, to help him during one of his fashion shows. For his Haute Couture presentation last year, the five-year-old stole the show as he stepped out holding hands with Cara Delevingne and Karl himself for the finale. Hudson, who is the son of Brad Koenig, was dressed as a page boy, while Cara was the Chanel bride.
