How do you ensure your skin is in tip top condition?

It’s really hard as you get older because I’m not somebody that has lots of face treatments and for me less is more, I never like to use too much of anything. I don’t use lots of eye creams or face creams and I don’t believe in expensive creams. I try to use products that make my skin feel nice and hydrated, and ones that I can put my make-up on top of. Less is definitely more for me.

How does you beauty regime change during the colder months?

I always feel that my skin is harder to deal with in the cold weather. I think skin gets affected by things like central heating and I’ve got quite sallow skin, so the minute I’m in the sun my skin naturally looks healthier, even though I make sure I wear a factor 50 at all times. In the winter I have to be really careful that I don’t look sallow and my skin can be a bit blotchy, dry in some areas and greasy in others, so I definitely have to be a bit more attentive in the winter than I am in the summer.

What’s the best piece of beauty advice you have ever been given?

I think my make-up artist Kim, who is also my business partner, has taught me that as you get older you have to wear less make-up and be smarter about where you put it.

What are your tips for getting that party look for NYE?

I'm very much 'all eyes' or 'all lips'. I love a dark smokey eye – I don't think you can ever go wrong with that look, but always keep the lips nude. I always think it's best to put the eyeliner on the inside of your eye too, I think it's a timeless look that is great with a suit or black dress. If I've been at work in the day in ripped jeans and a t-shirt, I can turn that into a night time look with dark smokey eyes and high heels, and feel glam! My other favourite look is a dark berry lip with lashings of black mascara and no other eye make-up.

What is your handbag beauty hero?

I really like the Dr Organic Snail Gel Hand & Nail Elixir, especially at this time of year as it keeps my hands feeling soft and moisturised.

Have you ever suffered from troubled skin?

When I got into my twenties I suffered with quite bad skin - I got lots of quite painful spots around my hair line. I think looking back it was slightly hormonal, I think your body goes through different changes at different times and that was what happened to me. It was really hard to deal with, especially being on TV and people not really expecting to see me with spots, it definitely knocked my confidence.

What are your thoughts on the new Snail gel range from Dr Organic and why did you decide to work for them?

For me it boils down to investing a lot of time in my own natural make-up range – I really take time over the ingredients and looking into what we should be putting on our face. Dr Organic was perfect: it's something that I'm really passionate about and like it to be as natural as possible when it comes to your skincare range and make-up. Secondly, I’m a really big believer in that you don’t have to spend a fortune to get high performing products that really do what they say they’re meant to do.

Which is your favourite product from the range and why?

I really love the Dr Organic Snail Gel Facial Serum, it smells incredible. It smells really fresh and really clean, for me I love the cleanliness smell on my face so I love that it doesn’t have a very heavy perfume smell. It’s easy to apply and provides a great hydrating base for make-up.
