Kate's wedding day tiara to go on display in Paris

The dazzling tiara worn by Kate Middleton on her wedding day to Prince William will go on display in Paris.The beautiful 'halo' headpiece, designed by Cartier, will form part of the biggest ever display of creations by the brand during an exhibition at the Grand Palais in the French capital.The display will also include Princess Grace of Monaco's sparkling engagement ring.

The Duchess of Cambridge dazzled in the tiara as she tied the knot with Prince William, btu she wasn't the first royal lady to wear the headpiece.

It was lent to the pretty brunette by the Queen. Made by Cartier in 1936 after being commissioned by King George VI, it was given as a present to the Queen Mother by her husband the Duke of York.

She then passed it down to Princess Elizabeth – now Queen Elizabeth II – for her 18th birthday.

The tiara boasts thousands of diamonds

Kate was recently spotted wearing a tiara at a black tie event. It was the first time she had worn one since her wedding day back in April 2011.Once again, it was loaned to her by the Queen and Kensington Palace confirmed that the headpiece had belonged to Princess Margaret, who wore it to the same event – the Diplomatic reception – 55 years ago in 1958.The tiara featured a diamond and pearl design with fanned motifs, floating diamond arches, two pearls at the base and a showstopping top pearl in the centre.

The tiara is formed as a band of 16 graduated scrolls set with 739 brilliants and 149 baton diamonds.

The display will also include Princess Grace of Monaco's sparkling engagement ring
