Charlize Theron and Sean Penn laid romance rumours to rest on Thursday when the couple stepped out for the premiere of A Million Ways To Die In The West.

Looking very much in love, the handsome pair held hands and exchanged adoring glances at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles. Charlize, 38, was stunning in a lace black dress with an opaque torso by Christian Dior. She teamed the number with a matching black clutch and a pair of sling-back Louboutin heels.

Diamond earrings and a huge diamond ring by Cartier finished off the glamorous look, along with tousled blonde locks and a pop of bright rouge lipstick. As the duo posed for photographers on the red carpet, Charlize kept 53-year-old Sean close by holding his hand behind her back.

The twice-married actor appeared content and proud to be by the star's side, dressed in a black suit and open navy shirt for the premiere. Rumours that Charlize and Sean were more than just good friends began to swirl again after they rang in the New Year together, and they have been pretty much inseparable since. The Oscar-winning pair holidayed in Hawaii over the festive period and have been photographed enjoying numerous days out together, along with Charlize's son Jackson.

Sean spoke recently of the blonde beauty: "She's a keeper, that's for sure. Well, I’ll do my best to keep her."

True to his word, he is reportedly planning to propose to Charlize and has been busy planning the engagement ring. "He wants it to reflect how he feels about Charlize so he added an inscription and a few secret messages in the design," a source told Star. "He wants to propose as soon as the ring is done."
